30代独身男の日常🇯🇵 | 服部緑地公園のスケートパークデビュー【Vol.237】

Good morning! Lunch was super late today, so I’m just having some oatmeal. It was crazy humid the last couple of days, but today’s weather feels amazing. Time to whip up some electrolyte drink. I’m about to head out for some skate practice. Actually, there are two indoor skate parks near my place. So I’m gonna go check out one of them today. It’s not hot at all—feels just right. I’ve walked around here before. Looks like it’s along this road. It’s about as close as Hattori Ryokuchi Park. There’s a convenience store nearby too, so honestly, it’s a pretty sweet location for me. Here we are. Apparently this place is a snowboard training spot in the off-season. And there’s a small skate park attached to it. Dang, that plane’s loud. There was one other guy earlier, but now it’s just me—got the whole place to myself. It’s pretty tight in here, so if you’re not alone, it’s kinda hard to practice. There’s a snowboard practice area in the back too. Finally found a flat spot to ride. Let’s skate. Gonna practice the stuff we learned at the last skate school. I could do this easily before, but today I couldn’t land it at all. Trying to keep in mind what they taught me at school. Starting to get the hang of this move. Practice is done, time to head back. It was super chill practicing when I had the place to myself. LIFE Avocados are cheap at LIFE. LIFE actually has some other good deals too. Just got home. Coke Zero. It splashed on my skate pants, so it’s all good. Chugging it down. Coke Zero after a workout—my brain’s exploding with joy. My legs are dead. Lately, my right knee’s been killing me when I skate. Sometimes it even hurts just getting off the board. I smacked the top of my foot with the board, so yeah, that hurts too. I kinda wanna go back to that place again tomorrow. But apparently they’re closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays, so I’ll need to find a different spot on those days. Back to the store again. Grocery run. I’m gonna make wasabi soy sauce dressing. 1/2 tsp of salt. 1/2 tbsp of soy sauce. 1 tbsp of vinegar. 1 tbsp of olive oil. Wasabi—however much you like. Man, this is hard to mix. Sunny lettuce is crazy cheap right now—like 99 yen or something. This dressing is insanely good. Perfect with avocado. Wasabi soy sauce just hits different. Coating chicken breast with sake and potato starch. Now I’m gonna make some honey mustard sauce. Just cook it up and pour the sauce on top—super simple. Honey mustard chicken breast and broccoli stir-fry. Boom. Alrighty then, let’s eat! Might’ve been a little short on the honey. Still tasty though—personally, I think it needs some garlic. Bath time. Good morning. Dang, it’s hot. Feels like summer already. Time to turn on the AC. The high today is 29°C, and it’s super muggy too. Gonna get some work done with a soy latte in hand. Getting to work. Alright, lunchtime. It’s getting pretty hot out, so I might skip the miso soup today. Gonna eat while watching One Piece. Got a package—let’s open it up. Here we go—two bags of oatmeal and some Himalayan pink salt from my Amazon wishlist! Thank you so much for sending these! By the way, I only had oatmeal and natto for lunch yesterday, and I felt totally fine. Might try cutting down my lunch portions a bit more. Today I’m going full protective gear. Especially on the knees—I’ve already got two scrapes there. Wearing pads definitely makes it harder to move, though. Yup, super hard to move in these. I know I shouldn’t push it too far, but honestly, confidence is key—without it, nothing goes well. If you wanna do things you couldn’t before, you’ve gotta go for it—but the reason we hold back is ‘cause we’re scared of getting hurt. These pads make it harder to move, but I do feel way safer with them on. Since I’m wearing wide-leg pants, the pads should be pretty well hidden. Whoa, this is seriously restricting. Maybe the size is too tight? Honestly, you probably wouldn’t even notice I’ve got pads on. Well, unless I pull my knees out—then it’s obvious. It’s 29°C right now, but it doesn’t feel that bad. The breeze actually feels nice. Clear skies with zero clouds, but the sky looks kinda washed-out and white. Heading out. Better grab some water. Bought some water. Nice! Got the whole place to myself for now. Dang, it’s already super hot. Oh crap, I forgot to bring a towel. Adding electrolyte powder to my water. Gonna chill it in the fridge. I’m trying to catch the board, but it won’t lock in. The board just flies off like crazy—I don’t even know why. Taking a deep breath—this is scary. Got it! But I still can’t ride down the center. Got it again! Once I get up high, I start to panic like crazy. That was close—seriously glad I had my pads on. I slammed this spot real hard. My elbow’s not scratched at all, but I had my phone in my pocket and now I’ve got a huge bruise here. Also, yeah, my right knee still hurts. Falling on flat ground and falling on a slope feel completely different. Falling on a slope hits way harder. Dropping in from an even higher point. Finishing off with some obstacle dodging practice. Time to wash all this sweat off. Bath time. I picked up some decaf coffee to try. The MUJI one’s always sold out. This one’s got a little measuring line here—makes about 10 cups. Tastes great! Might’ve added too much soy milk though. It’s unsweetened, but somehow tastes amazing. Taking a bath before sunset really makes it feel like summer. Days are getting longer, huh? Whenever I get a bath in before the sun sets, it’s usually a top-tier day. Oh, and there’s something I’ve been thinking about lately with this hot weather. Like, when I work out early in the morning and put on waterproof sunscreen… I usually take a shower when I get back, but unless I use a cleanser, the waterproof sunscreen won’t really come off, right? So if I cleanse then, and again at night, that means I’m cleansing twice a day. That seems like a lot for my skin, and I’ve been wondering what the best move is. Time to make some peperoncino. Throwing in some oil sardines. Tonight’s dinner is salad and oil sardine pasta. Watching One Piece while I eat. Finished the Chopper arc. Stretching time. Starting to feel pretty sleepy—perfect. Good morning! Slept like a rock. Yoga. I’m heading to the Hattori Ryokuchi skate park now. I’ll end up going eventually, so might as well head out now. I can’t do ollies yet—that’s the trick where you jump with the board—and honestly, I haven’t even started practicing. But I’m cool with just cruising around. I just wanna ride every day if I can, and get a good sweat in too. So today’s more about just enjoying the ride than serious practice. That park’s where I usually go for walks, so I wanna treat skating like taking a walk. Since it’s just a chill cruise, I’ll probably head back in 30 minutes or an hour. I’m not even bringing a bag—just my board, a drink, and a towel. It’s already super hot and it’s not even 9 AM yet. Just got to the skate park. Only two other people here so far. They’re both working on jump tricks. So doing basic practice feels kinda awkward. Heading back. That was a super smooth session. Three more people showed up later, so there were six of us total. I was shocked there were six people out skating at 9 AM on a weekday. Cleansed my face before hopping in the shower. Man, working out in the morning feels so good. That post-workout shower hits different. Alright, time to get some work done. Work. Removing tendons from the chicken tenders. Poked some holes and added salt, pepper, and lemon. Microwaving it. Lunchtime. Took a nap. Heading to the orthodontist now. So I’ve been dealing with TMJ for about two years, but last time I went in, they made some adjustments and the pain totally disappeared the next day. Now I can open my mouth all the way again. If I open it wide really suddenly, I still hear a little joint cracking sound, but there’s no pain at all anymore. I’m just so relieved it’s gotten way better. Alright, I’m off. Looks like it’s gonna rain later, so I brought an umbrella. Made it to Esaka. Made it to Senrichuo. Alright, heading in. All done! My next appointment’s in six months. Looks like I’ll make it home before the rain starts. This tastes amazing. And the best part of decaf is that it doesn’t make you run to the bathroom all the time. Time to make tomato-braised chicken. Dinner tonight is tomato chicken stew—with some soybeans thrown in today. So good! I bet this would taste amazing with pasta too. I’ve still got half left, so maybe I’ll toss in some pasta. Might as well! Gonna mix it with pasta and give it a try. Probably gonna add a splash of pasta water. Same flavor as before, so of course it’s delicious. Folding up the futon. Opening the curtains. Work. Alright, lunchtime. One Piece is just too good. No skating today—heading to the orthopedic clinic instead. Too many parts of my body hurt right now. While I’m skating, my right knee hurts—and it kinda aches when I squat too. Actually, maybe not… maybe it healed? Wait, I think it might actually be fine now. And I thought I hurt my left elbow pretty bad, but now it doesn’t hurt at all. That whole arm just feels kinda sore, like muscle fatigue or something. But it’s not really pain, though. Honestly, this might be the spot that hurts the most. I bruised it, and even touching it lightly hurts. Pretty sure it’s just a bruise, though. But I ran out of pain patches, so I’m just gonna have it checked to be safe. I seriously don’t want this to get any worse. Waiting now. No issues at all. What a relief. To be honest, I was most worried about my right knee—even though I didn’t actually hit it. Gonna take a short walk before heading home. Walking. Bath time. Dinner time. I’m having chicken salad loaded with yogurt sauce. So good. This sauce just goes perfectly with meat. Got a package—time to open it. Got an Amazon gift card from my wishlist—thank you so much! Really appreciate it. Having tamago-kake gohan (egg over rice). Good morning. The breeze feels amazing. The air’s pretty dry today. I can go without the AC. The weather’s so nice today—I wanna skate outside, so I’m heading to the Minoh skate park. Made it to Minoh. Gonna walk a different route than last week. Walking along the path with the farmland. Here we are—three people are already here. Buying my ticket at the vending machine. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to walking into places where people are already hanging out. Might be time to start practicing ollies. Breaking down the movements and working on them piece by piece. Taking a break. For lunch, I’ll either hit a café or grab something from the convenience store. There are only three places to eat around here—the café I went to last week, this café, or that FamilyMart over there. I had a katsu sandwich at the café last week—and this place also has katsu sandwiches. Since this one has an eat-in area, I’ll just go with the convenience store today. Soba noodles. Salad chicken. That cheese-filled salad chicken hits the spot. All that for 891 yen—way cheaper than the café. This inari sushi is insanely good. Practicing turns while braking. The board keeps tilting to the right. Heading home. My legs are toast. Crap, the train’s about to leave! Grocery store. Time for some ice cream. Pino ice cream has Pokémon designs on it! Grabbed three kinds of ice cream. Yep, ended up buying three. So good. I’m beat. Didn’t fall once today, and my right knee held up too. Skateboarding is seriously way too hard. Might hit up skate school again next week. Bath time. Dinner’s the same as yesterday. Watching One Piece while I eat. Adding oil sardines to curry makes it look even tastier thanks to all that rich oil. Time to eat. I’m ridiculously sleepy. Slept like crazy—about 10 hours. Lunchtime. It’s raining all day in Osaka today, so I’m staying in. Feels like it’s been raining every weekend lately. Not that I usually go out on weekends anyway. Been watching One Piece nonstop with my phone in hand. Looking stuff up here and there whenever I get confused. Doing one of those limited-time Pokémon raid battles. Making garlic butter chicken breast stir-fry. Grilling it up. 1 tablespoon of sugar. 2 tablespoons of ponzu. 1 tablespoon each of sake and mirin. Toss in broccoli and butter and stir-fry everything. Dinner’s ready—garlic butter chicken breast with broccoli. Alright, let’s eat! Man, this is too good. I’m telling you, the sugar is what makes it fire. I made this before, but didn’t add sugar that time. The sauce is just next-level. Reading some manga. Good morning! Lately, I’ve been sleeping like a baby. Time for lunch. It rained a lot yesterday, so it’s kinda chilly today—high’s only 20°C. I just washed this jacket and now I’m wearing it again. Cleaning up. Changing the bed sheets. Heading out now—got plans. Yeah, I think I’ll go with this jacket. Maybe it’s from cleaning, but I’m already hot even in just a T-shirt. At the station now. In transit. Heading to the third death anniversary for the dog we had at my parents’ house. Came out for yakiniku with my mom. It’s a BBQ spot near our house, but it’s our first time here. It was insanely good. The liver was the best part. Definitely a place I’d wanna come back to. Just got back and took a bath. Now I’ll just study some English and go to bed, so I’ll wrap this up. This week, I skated more than I ever have before. It’s finally starting to feel fun. When I first started, I couldn’t do anything and didn’t even know what to practice, so I honestly wasn’t enjoying it that much. So I didn’t really practice, and if I did, it was like 30 minutes or an hour. But this week I was out there for about 2 hours most days. Well, except at Hattori Ryokuchi—only skated about 30 minutes there. It’s just that my level’s so low, I feel super out of place there. Wish I could stop caring about what people think. But honestly, feeling out of place just means there are a lot of really skilled skaters around. So yeah, I guess I really should be practicing in places like that. But for now, I just wanna keep it fun and make sure I’m getting enough exercise. Getting to the point where it feels fun is the hardest part. Once you push past that first hurdle, I think it just clicks. Let’s grind again tomorrow! And if you liked this video, hit that like button and subscribe—I’d really appreciate it. Thanks for watching!
