  1. One major difference is performance style. Korean idols focused on having intricate dance routines and impressive vocals. For Japanese idols, it focused more on trying to connect with the fans and entertaining them. Another difference are the fan chants. In Japan, it’s known as wotagei. Instead of cheering for when a certain idol is singing, many save cheering for when nobody is singing. That’s just one example! It can get pretty in depth, so I won’t waste time trying to explain!
