It's so nice to see young men learning to cook! 🥰 It wasn't very popular with boys when I was young, but I can tell you, when I was 18, the men who could cook even a couple of dishes well were SO popular with everybody!
Since you enjoy baking, you might enjoy making fresh pasta too, when you have spare time! The "grandma method" is to crack a raw egg or two into a mound of flour, and bring the dough together by hand, adjusting with water or more flour as needed. Dried pasta is definitely more convenient, but it's fun to make your own shapes and thicknesses of noodles, and fresh dough cooks very quickly!
I laughed while you were making the croquettes, and suddenly the kids appeared, saying "ooh… fried food!" I used to pester my mother to make bite-sized portions of fried things (like cutlets) so I could eat one faster, LOL. I bought potatoes on sale last week, so this week I think I should also try to make croquettes!
The musubi look so good! I think it's nice to have the nori with them, it adds a lot to the flavor. And you got such a nice sear on the broccoli with your iron pan! So cute that you used the Hawaiian bag to go with it.
