楽天が獲得 前田健太vsカーソン・マッカスカー
to do. Here’s Carson McCusker. 267 17 overrs, 56 RBI. And that fast ball at the bottom of the zone for a strike. And it’s no balls, one strike. >> When I read right, it was Eric Sogard, I think, broke up the no hitter. And I refreshed my memory, you know, reading about it earlier, but that kind of rings a bell a little bit. Eric Soggard home ring to break it up. >> In the dirt and taking off is Martin. He’ll slide in head first. Should be a wild pitch. Good backhanded stop by Bisteros, but Martin got a great read and takes off. >> Watch this again. Nice job by Bastos to keep this in front of him. But Martin sees that and gets a beautiful jump. >> I mean, he’s just a guy that does everything well. Austin Martin, we we have very little to quibble about what he’s done when he’s been on the field with the Saints. I mean, excellent instincts as a base runner as well as what he’s done with a bat. Gusker misses the fast ball. One and two. You bring up Eric Sogard, his brother played for the St. Paul Saints. >> First year this park opened. I remember that. I was here that year. >> Great season. Had a great season. >> Ball and two strikes to count on McCusker. Saints trying to get to in the first inning. Again, this has been an inning that has been his downfall as the splitter swung on and missed. But he’s got a man at second and two outs. Carson McCusker will lead it off. >> First pitch swing. Skies it in the air on the right side. Keeping it get a look is long and that’s going to be out of play >> 89. I mean, that was dotted outside corner, but a spot where McCusker can kind of get the arms extended, flip it over that short porch. He’d like to have another opportunity to pitch like that in a similar location. Kusker struck out his first time up. Has that one down low for a ball. Saints have gotten two in the first and one in the second against Kenta Mietta. Up to 41 pitches and he takes on the inside corner with the cutter. One and two. That’s a really good cutter there. I mean, it starts a ball, comes back and clips the inside edge of the plate. You see the flashes still where Miata has got that command of multiple pitches going at once. He’s he’s tough to deal with. >> Gusker checks up on the splitter in the dirt. Did not go. Two balls, two strikes. >> I am always curious, by the way, what uh what managers, players, coaches say that eventually gets them run. Toby Gardner >> getting thrown out because he didn’t look like he was yelling. >> No. two two pitch and could not hold up on that one. And down on strikes he goes. Base hits. All three are doubles. We haven’t seen that pop that we saw last year. And I think that’s the last part of his game that needs to to come back. And Toby described this great the other day. He told me that that Eel’s the type of guy that likes to do a lot of leg work in the gym, but with the injured knee, he wasn’t able to do it. And so, you’re trying to recover from that and get back to where you were. You get a lot of that power from the lower body. >> Oh, one’s outside. Ball and a strike. Yeah, I mean, no question about it. Like we always talk about how short Eels is 5’5, but he has got a ridiculously powerful lower half when he’s been healthy, been able to work out year round. That’s where the power comes from. 1-1 to the opposite batters box. He he’s a crazy athlete. >> Yeah, it’s it’s really a lot of what Eels and I have in common. Both really stacked lower body and and 5’5. So, I understand where he’s coming from and like when you can’t do, you know, the 425 squats, you know, that’s that’s what happens. You lose a little your power. >> Sean Arson, Pton Neil’s do not skip leg day. There’s the swing in a miss by McCusker and it’s two balls and two strikes. Hey, well, while we got my it out here, I mean, last note I’ve got on him is his MLB debut April 6th, 2016. He threw six scoreless against the Padres’s. He also hit a homer at the plate in that game. >> Underrated pitcher hitter. >> Yeah. >> Uh Kent Maya. That was the only home run of his major league career. And I’m saying that is the only one because I’m not ruling out that he could make it back to the major leagues. I don’t think he’s going to have another at bat in the major leagues the rest of his career, just to clarify. But he had a he had a season with the Dodgers where he had 12 hits in 38 games. hit 250 that year. He had some years he swung the bat 156 lifetime hitter in about 179 at bats. Don’t forget and you know we talked about the 2020 season. No, he didn’t hit that year but 2021 with Minnesota he was one for three. There’s a swing and a miss. McCusker goes down swinging at a slider and Mietta gets the shutdown inning after the seven run top of the frame from the Iowa Cubs. It stays 83 Iowa. We head to the sixth here on Fox 9 Plus.
