【モデル歴20年】現場バッグの中身|最近の“お気に入りだけ”What’s in my bag

Good evening, everyone. Kana here. Today, by popular request from all of you, I’m doing a What’s in My Bag. And this time, I’m showing you what I bring to my shoots as a model of 20 years. There are all kinds of shooting environments sometimes the days are super long, sometimes unexpected things happen so to make sure I can go into the shoot with my mental state, physical condition, and appearance all at their best, I’ve tried so many different items over the years. Today, I want to show you the best of the best, and my recent favorites. I’ll also share some behind-the-scenes stories from set, because you really never know what’s going to happen at a shoot. So, let’s start with the bag itself. The bag is this one, from a Korean brand called OSOI. It’s a suede bag, and I really love this subtle color, and the shape is great too. The center part is actually a clasp frame, so when you pop it open you can see inside, and there are big pockets on the front and back. Inside the clasp area there’s a zip pocket, and one more pocket as well. I usually carry it by the handles, but you can attach a strap and wear it on your shoulder too. It’s sticking out a little here, but it can even fit a laptop. The base is sturdy, so it holds a ton of things, which I love. And the handle length is perfect you can put it over your shoulder or hold it by hand without it feeling too long. The color is great for the upcoming fall and winter season as well. It’s suede, but the brown isn’t too bright, so even in summer it looks like a nice dyed tone and still works with outfits. Now, let’s move on to what’s inside. First up is my laptop. I use a MacBook Air, I’ll put the exact model on screen somewhere around here because I forgot which one it was. I often bring it so I can edit YouTube videos or podcasts during downtime, or work on my column drafts. When the schedule is very tight or the shoot is short, I might not bring it, but if I have a tight deadline I take it so I can work while getting my hair and makeup done. And for video shoots, sometimes a set change takes a long time you might wait two hours, or even four hours, depending on how many peple are shooting so I bring my laptop to use that free time productively. And staying on the topic of electronics, my earphones. I always bring two types. These are for listening to music while commuting or for checking quick videos on my phone or laptop. And these are for video editing. Even though Bluetooth ones connect fine, there’s still a slight delay, and that makes it easy to miss very precise cut points. So when I edit, I always use these wired earphones. Next is my camera. I use this cosmetics pouch as a camera case, but it’s super worn out and dirty now, I should wash it soon. Inside is my Sony camera. For YouTube, I mostly use this or my iPhone. I have two of these cameras, the one filming right now and the one I’m holding here. It has great autofocus, the focus locks on quickly, the zoom is strong, and I love the colors. It also takes really beautiful photos, and the flash looks good too. And most of all, I love how compact it is. I used to film YouTube with a DSLR, but honestly it was way too heavy to carry around outside, so after switching to this one I’ve been using it ever since. If anyone wants to start YouTube or is already doing YouTube, I really recommend this camera. Also the Canon Mark III is one lots of YouTubers use. The color tone preference depends on the person, but I personally like this one better. Since we’re on cameras, next is my iPhone I use a clear case from Casetify and keep a photo of my husband inside, but it’s a little embarrassing so I won’t show it fully. This is the iPhone 15 Pro, I think? I’m debating whether to buy the new one. My device upgrade cycle is every two years, on odd-number years. But I feel like the even-number cycles have better updates, so I want to shift my upgrade timing to the even years. I’m not sure if I should wait one more year or just buy now. I take almost all my Instagram photos with my iPhone. Sometimes I use an older digital camera for fun textures, but mainly it’s the iPhone. Next is my tripod. For YouTube, I pretty much only use this tripod. It’s been a long-time friend at this point. You can bend it however you want, attach it in all kinds of places, and you can even hang it from above like this. It’s honestly amazing. If you loosen this part here, the angle moves freely like this, which is super convenient. How long have I had this for? I think it’s appeared many times in my What’s In My Bag videos too. I’m really glad I bought it. It was a little expensive as far as tripods go, but it does such a good job. Next is this one, this is so good. Whenever I use it on set, all the staff ask me where it’s from. It’s a phone mount and the base is a suction cup that sticks to glass or metal. You push it down click click click and it sticks firmly. Then you turn this again to open, pull here, and it pops off easily. It’s a great item. The suction one that I introduced before was good too, but that one didn’t let you change the angle. This one does let you adjust it like this. So if I’m sticking it to a mirror and filming straight on, the old one was fine. But if I want to place it slightly to the side and get an angled shot from the side, this one can adjust the angle, which is incredibly useful. It was also a huge help while filming my Canada video. It’s not just for YouTube—when I’m shooting vertical videos, this is really useful too. It’s definitely bulky, but for example, when you’re at a restaurant and you can’t get the angle you want just by leaning your phone against something, this gets the shot for you perfectly. It’s really great. You can set it vertically like this too. Honestly I recommend this so much. From here, I’ll move on to what’s inside my pouch. This pouch is a Chanel novelty gift, and it’s padded, so it’s safe even if you put glass containers inside. First is this. You’re probably thinking, “What is that?” This is a facial device. It’s so tiny and flat, like you could just fit it in your hand. When I prep my face at home before going to set, I highly recommend Dr. Yamaguchi’s Inazuma beauty device. That one uses EMS and LED light to boost glow, and lift your face. The change in shape is honestly shocking, it lifts so much, reduces swelling instantly, makes your face smaller, it’s amazing. But it’s a bit big, so bringing it on set is bulky. So for set days or business trips, I always bring this smaller one. It uses microcurrent to tighten the face and help skincare ingredients absorb. Many hair and makeup artists give facial massages during prep, but not everyone does, so I think it’s good to be able to prepare your own face to a certain degree. Also, for location shoots, we often travel for an hour, an hour and a half, sometimes two or two and a half hours. After that, makeup starts. And since I usually sleep during the travel time, my face tends to get puffy. So once I arrive, I quickly use this to reduce the swelling. Each session is four minutes, so right before makeup starts I can do a quick session and be done. It works really well. If you do just one half of your face, you can clearly see the difference that’s how much it tightens. I really recommend it. And with the beauty device, I use this gel. It conducts electricity. There’s a dedicated serum for it, but it doesn’t really suit my skin, so I just buy a professional-use gel from Amazon, transfer a small amount into a container, and bring that with me. Continuing with the face prep category, I have this sheet mask. Like I mentioned, if the call time isn’t too early or the travel isn’t long, I prep at home using a facial device and sheet mask, then head to set. But on days when I have to travel or when it’s early morning, I bring sheet masks with me. Some makeup artists also bring sheet masks, but some don’t. So it’s better to have your own just in case. These are from FEMMUE, I’ve shown them on YouTube many times, and they really are excellent sheet masks. It might be a little more expensive, but it gives me results in one go, almost like I’ve been to the beauty salon so I really trust this sheet mask. Next is the lip prep. This is the Dior Lip Maximizer. It’s a plumper, and since it’s so popular, I think most of you already know it, but I apply it before makeup starts. By the time the makeup is finished, my lips are plump and ready for the shoot, so I prep with this. This is the colorless version, and the plumping effect is refined and elegant. I really trust the results so that’s why I choose Dior’s Lip Maximizer. Another prep item is this. Eye drops. Shooting locations are often quite dry, and I also get tired eyes from all the flashes, so my eyes can get red or start watering easily. If that happens, I’d have to ask the makeup artist for touch-ups many times, which would be a bother, so I prep with eye drops to moisturize and refresh my eyes. Then during breaks or when changing sets, I apply them again before returning to the shoot. What’s great about these eye drops is that they are super, and I mean SUPER, cooling. The refreshing sensation is incredible. I’ve tried various cooling eye drops, but so far this one might be the strongest. It even says “maximum cool” on the bottle, and it really refreshes you. I recommend this for people who do a lot of desk work too. Next is this energy mist. It has such a refreshing scent, like a slightly crisp, forest-like fragrance. I’ve been using mists for a long time, but this might be in my top 3. When I’m shooting in a studio for a long time and start feeling like I want to change my mood or refresh myself, I use them. Also, being indoors for so long can make your body feel heavy, so I use mists at times like that too. And studios are often underground, so I’ll spray a little in the makeup room to refresh the space. Or when I want to shift my mood, or when I start feeling nervous before an event Or when I want to refresh myself after meeting lots of people. There are times on set when many different people are around, and sometimes you can get really socially exhausted. So to maintain my own center or my emotional balance, I often use scent items like these. This is a mist I rely on at such times. Another scent item is this aromatherapy oil from SHIGETA. They have many types, and I like a lot of them, but for shoots I usually bring the one called Free Me. When my legs start feeling swollen, I mix it with oil or cream and apply it. Or, if the hair and makeup artist offers massage, I ask them to mix a bit in before makeup starts and apply it around here. It’s very refreshing. When shoots get long and I want to lift my mood a bit I apply it to my temples or, what do you call this, the crown area? I apply it there too. And when I’m nervous before an event, having a familiar scent helps me feel at ease. So for grounding purposes as well, I always carry items like this that have a scent. Also during business trips or overnight stays, just having my own scent in the room makes a big difference in how I feel, and I’m able to go into shoots in a good condition. So I bring things like this with me. So I carry this with me. Another mental care item I carry is Bach’s Rescue Remedy. It’s a flower essence that you take when you feel stressed. Stress comes in many forms like nervousness or irritation, there are many types, but whenever I feel my emotions wavering in some way, I take this. When a shoot gets long and my mood starts to drop a little, or right before going out for an event when I suddenly get very nervous. Since I often take on new challenges at shoots too, I keep this with me as a sort of protection. I don’t just bring this to shoots I always take it with me when I travel, and I use it in daily life whenever I feel any kind of stress. It’s truly a reliable flower essence. Next is this. Yes, dental floss. This dental floss is from Buly, The thread is black, and even the container is super cute, so having it in my pouch really lifts my mood. I’ve gone through so many of these Usualy on set, hair and makeup artists often carry toothpicks. Most of them do. But sometimes toothpicks just can’t get everything out. When that happens, there have been times where I’ve gone, “Oh no… what do I do?” Or sometimes they run out of toothpicks on set. And sometimes that happens right when I’m about to meet lots of people at an event. It becomes chaos like “What do we do? What do we do?” So through those experiences, I learned that from now on, I absolutely must bring floss with me to set. So now I always bring floss. I’ve always liked floss, and I always keep some in my carry-on luggage too. This one has a strong minty taste so it gives a clean finish, so I highly recommend it. And because the design is cute, I think it would also make a nice small gift for the upcoming gift-giving season. Next, this isn’t just for work, I carry it around during this season in general: hand cream. It might be reflecting too much, can you see it? It looks something like this. This is a hand and body serum made by a spa called ENDEAR. So the texture is a not too heavy and spreads easily, it really sinks right into the skin, and it feels wonderful to use. But above all, the scent is unbelievably good. Personally, I think, “Isn’t this exactly what a comforting, blissful scent would be like?” I love the scent. For people who are worried about dryness but prefer something smooth rather than a sticky, heavy hand cream I really recommend this. Next is lip balm. Recently I’ve been using the Hailey Bieber Rhode lip treatment. Ever since I bought it in Canada, I’ve really been loving it It’s so moisturizing and feels so good to use. And it so cute, so lately this has been the lip balm I always carry. For things you can buy in Japan, the round The Ordinary lip balms are also super cute and uplifting, so I recommend those too. And for those who prefer something really natural, the Amritara ones are also great. Aesop’s tube-type lip treatment is also visually cute and feels great, so I recommend that too. Next is this red lipstick from Hermès. It’s fairly dark, but it has a slight transparency, so it gives a natural flush while still being a dark, mature tone. I love it and have been using it heavily lately. The color is of course gorgeous, but it also feels really nice on the lips and the visual design is just incredibly pretty. For the upcoming holiday season, when you want to give something a little special, it’s also a great gift. And since it’s refillable, you can switch to your preferred shade later, which I think is wonderful. When I finish a shoot and take off my hair and makeup, well not my hair but, when I’m done for the day if I add just a touch of redness, I can go about my day after I always keep a lip product in my everyday bag too, and this is the one I selected for now. For other recommended red lipsticks, there’s a brand called The Flower Shop run by Mayumi-san, and their red lipstick is incredibly cute. I’ve recommended it before, but it’s such an on-trend shade. It doesn’t give that juicy, glossy, wet-lip look. Instead, the your lips look naturally moisturized. It’s a very cute red lipstick, so I recommend that one too. Now we’re moving on to body care. First is this— I know, it looks a little intense. This is a Taiwanese gua sha massage tool. When shoots get long, my legs tend to swell, so I try to be careful like not letting my legs hang down too much or keeping them elevated. But even then, my legs still end up swelling, so in those moments I use this and really massage my legs intensely. I massage very firmly in an upwards motion. This base is real hinoki wood, so it smells amazing. But this part here is metal, so the head is extremely hard. I’ve honestly tried so many different tools until now, but nothing has surpassed this one. You can use it for the whole body, on legs, arms, anything, and it works incredibly well. My personal recommendation is the scalp. When shoots get long, fatigue starts to show in the face So during breaks or during outfit changes, I’ll just go at my scalp aggressively. Well, depending on what the hair looks like at that moment, sometimes I can’t do it, but when I can, doing it intensely really refreshes me. It’s great as prep too, massaging the scalp deeply beforehand feels amazing. I really, truly recommend it. Even just going like this around here, lightly brushing over, is really nice. Or like this This tool is super useful not only on set but also at home. When I’ve been working on my computer too long and my head feels clogged or I feel myself zoning out, I immediately grab it. When I have a shoot the next day where I’ll have my legs exposed, Though I avoid overdoing the leg massage because sometimes it can leave marks. I use body cream or oil and massage. The hand serum I showed earlier is soft and spreads well, so I sometimes use the combination of that serum and this tool to massage my whole body. Next I have these leg warmers, to fight the cause of swelling: cold. Studios can get very cold, and some don’t have heating at all. Outdoor shoots too, the moment your body gets cold, it takes forever to warm back up, so keeping warm is essential. I always bring warmers with me. I’ve tried many kinds before, but the thinness of these is what makes them great. Not just at work but in daily life too, because they’re so thin, they don’t make your legs look bulky under your clothes. Even if you layer them underneath, they don’t show, and they’re very warm. There are other colors too, but I got this dark grey one. It’s extremely good. During winter outdoor shoots, I always prepare by wearing warm tights and a stomach warmer. But since winter shoots are often for spring/summer collections, I’m usually wearing clothes that are very breezy. So I make sure to warm any part of my body that I can hide. So these leg warmers are truly highly recommended. Especially for this upcoming season. Next, these are very plain-looking, but it’s throat lozenges. These are from Nahri. I’ve tried so many kinds of candy until now, but when my throat starts getting scratchy, when I’m coughing, or when it’s dry, including the taste, these lozenge is my favorite. They’re not too sweet and have a refreshing taste, which is great. On set it’s often dry, and with heaters, AC, and dusty places while shooting on location, my throat can get irritated easily. So having these with me is extremely helpful, and I always bring throat lozenges. Next are vitamin C & D supplements. During this season, I’m often shooting in airy, ventilated clothing, so I take these to avoid catching a cold .And since I meet many people on set, and even more during events, I want to keep my immune system strong when going into those environments. So to boost immunity, I bring supplements that contain both vitamin C and D. I take them with meals, so I always carry enough for however many meals I’ll be having. They’re liposomal, so the absorption rate is very good, and I also take these vitamins regularly. Next is this enzyme supplement. This is from Bijin Kenkyujo. This is another item I’ve relied on for a long time. I’ve tried many different inner-care products, but I truly recommend these enzymes. It doesn’t contain anything weird, it comes in an convenient pouch format, and I personally love the sweet and acidic flavor. And like I mentioned earlier, I really rely on this when I want to boost my immunity or avoid catching a cold. I also rely on it when I’m totally exhausted and want to feel revived. And it’s great for your gut health too. When your gut is in good condition, your skin also improves, so I recommend it from a beauty perspective as well. When the shoot is long, or when I have multiple shoots in a row, my normal eating habits naturally change. So during those times, I take this enzyme to balance things out properly and take care of myself. Next are snacks! When shoots get long, I start wanting snacks, so I always bring my own. I introduced this before, but it’s seriously delicious while being guilt-free no margarine or shortening, no white sugar, gluten-free, and no artificial flavorings It’s something I can eat with total peace of mind and it’s still super satisfying, It’s kind of between a cracker and a cookie, kind of like a thin, crispy cookie. There are a lot of other flavors too. The one I have on hand right now is Mocha Brownie, but I think the chocolate flavor is still my favorite. When I introduced these before, a lot of people recommended the matcha flavor, I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m pretty sure the matcha one must be good too. Having snacks you love like this really helps when shoots get long, it makes you feel like, “Okay, I can keep going.” And when your brain starts getting tired, having a bit of sugar helps you snap back into focus. So for that reason too, I bring snacks to keep myself in a good mood. And that wraps up what’s in my on-set bag. I introduced everything quickly again this time, but honestly, these are items I’ve chosen after trying so many things over the years They’re items I can confidently recommend to everyone. If there’s anything you’re curious about, as always, I’ve put the links in the description, so please check them out. Thank you so much for watching until the end today. If you enjoyed it, please subscribe to the channel. Until next time, see~
