Veggie Kimbap Bento|Yakitori Rice Bowl|Giant Pudding|Omurice Made by My High School Son|Vlog
A beautiful sunset that makes all the tiredness fade away Tonight’s sunset was the most beautiful of the year I wanted to keep watching until the sun went down Keeping dinner simple tonight Miso soup with sweet potato, bean sprouts, and fried tofu Plenty of Matsuyama-age inside For chilled tofu, topping with crispy dried bonito and green onions I like plenty of toppings Pickles are takuan and kimchi Got home late today and feeling a bit tired Picked up some yakitori from a chicken shop Taking them off the skewers to make yakitori rice bowls They come off easily with a little twist Crispy, fragrant chicken skin is the best Yakitori bowls aren’t complete without an onsen egg Shichimi spice to taste Yakitori bowl set meal complete Making a matcha latte at my son’s request Didn’t go well💦 When I was a kid, I used to eat curry with strawberry milk too I get it (´ω`) Yakitori bowl — always delicious :)))) The next day It’s so dark, even Alexa’s shape has disappeared Today’s bento is kimbap Starting with the fillings I’m always pretty casual about making coffee I’d like to learn how to brew good coffee Using thinly sliced beef to make yakiniku Marinating it in yakiniku sauce Sprinkling salt on the cabbage and letting it sit Cutting carrots into thin strips Sprinkling salt and stir-frying them Toss with sesame oil and sesame seeds Next is the dropwort namul I’m growing half of it After a while, new leaves start to come out They make a nice garnish for the bento and also become Marotan’s food Boiling for about 30 seconds, then cooling in cold water Tossing with salt, sesame oil, and sesame seeds Cutting the takuan into long strips Choosing yellow takuan makes the colors prettier Peeling the lotus root and soaking it in vinegar water Today, I marinated it simply with Kantan-su Cooking the beef while spreading it out well Adding a bit more yakiniku sauce right before it’s done Seasoned on the stronger side For the omelet, adding a pinch of salt and some mirin Beating it well Starting with a stick-shaped omelet Tried rolling it vertically A bit tricky since I’m not used to it Also making thin omelets Since there’s mirin, it burns a little easily Maybe it was better without mirin… The second one turned out nicely Coating the lotus root with flour Then dipping it in beaten egg Kind of like a piccata? It got a bit burnt 💦 Better to microwave the lotus root first to save time All the side dishes are ready I should’ve sliced the thin omelet into strips I mixed in some black rice today Mixing in salt and sesame oil The rice amount is about 140 grams Maybe it’s better to place similar colors next to each other Maybe it’s better to place similar colors next to each other Placing the takuan at the front makes it easier to roll Rolling it up tightly Adding some purple cabbage pickled in sweet vinegar on top Kimbap lets you enjoy many kinds of side dishes And it’s healthy since it’s full of vegetables Brushing with sesame oil and sprinkling sesame seeds on top Cut into about ten to eleven pieces Thinner slices are easier to eat Preparing breakfast before plating Keeping it simple today — melon bread, yogurt, and Shine-sama Disinfecting with an edible sanitizer When putting the kimbap into the bento box I always struggle with it, but This rounded bento box fits perfectly The fried chicken is store-bought frozen karaage It’s more like tatsuta-age, actually Tatsuta-age usually has a starch coating, but Since karaage can also be coated with starch, I honestly can’t tell the difference ^_^ Kimbap bento is complete With Shin-chan power, antibacterial effect’s on point I’ve been trying to be careful about germs lately, but… Back in the day, I only used to remove tomato stems at most… It kind of feels like over-sanitizing Snack time — sauce katsu I used to make bentos really casually before Even so, none of the kids ever had a stomachache from them Light kimbap for my son If you get too obsessed with hygiene, it wears you out Guess moderation really is the best (´ω`) It’s a weekday, so I’m keeping the kitchen cleaning light Treat time for Marotan A quick stop at the convenience store after work Making a giant pudding Starting with the caramel 60g of sugar — break up any lumps Add 1 tablespoon of water and heat over medium Don’t stir — just swirl the pot once or so When it turns a deep brown, turn off the heat and add 50cc of hot water This moment is always scary (*_*) Pour the caramel into a heatproof dish Add 480cc of milk and 60g of sugar Warm it up while melting the caramel stuck to the pot Turn off the heat just before boiling and cool to body temperature Boil some water in another pot and preheat the oven to 150°C Add vanilla essence (I used vanilla oil instead) Beat four eggs Add the caramel milk gradually while mixing Strain and pour into the container Using parchment paper makes it easy to remove the foam Pour hot water into a slightly larger baking pan Gently place the pudding dish inside Bake in a water bath at 150°C for 30 minutes It started to brown, so I covered it with foil After 30 minutes A thin film formed on top — it’s done If it’s still too soft, heat again until a film forms My son is making omurice tonight Tonight’s dinner is his special omurice I’m just playing the assistant He’s stir-frying the ingredients with ketchup and mixing in the rice Seasoning with salt and pepper Topping it with soft, creamy eggs It’s kinda hard to make in a big pan Oh, a heart mark!❤️ Seems he’s sending a photo to his girlfriend (´罒`) Youth is wonderful (´ω`) As for me, my love is… Marotan 💓 Time for a little drink — maybe a Horoyoi Tried buying a dressing that caught my eye “That mysterious dressing from Indian curry restaurants” Food made by my kids is always good, but this omurice is on another level The dressing has a mild spice and tastes great too The most delicious omurice in the world It seems to have cooled down Chilling it in the fridge now The next day Fried chicken from the convenience store Reheating it in the air fryer Making an easy fried chicken sandwich The air fryer brings it back like it’s freshly made Running a knife along the pudding’s edges And pressing gently with a spoon to loosen it The tense moment A few bubbles on the sides How about the inside…? The knife slides in smoothly—so silky No bubbles inside, a beautiful cross-section It turned out perfectly! Cheese, lettuce, chicken, and mustard Topped with marinated purple cabbage All the ingredients were prepped in the fridge, so it came together in no time The cross-section looks amazing… Thanks to the chicken, it looks juicy and delicious! Melon soda topped with vanilla ice cream The kids’ favorite melon soda Made my son’s first since he’s heading to work soon No need to make dinner on my kid’s work days — so easy, haha They always have a big staff meal at work. Enjoyed a retro kissaten-style lunch today Retro café-style chicken sandwich lunch, complete With a cherry on the side I love firm pudding, and this time’s texture was the best so far Thank you so much for watching till the end Wishing you a lovely week ahead (´ω`)♡ [ I would be happy if you subscribe to my channel ]

Somebody’s got her man on lockdown. He ain’t going anywhere.
ah! the kimbap looks so good!!! I used to live in Korea for several years, and I just fell in love with kimbap. There was a diner not far from where I lived that had a HUGE menu (as any diner should, lol, of course, though it was all Korean staples, my favorite was bibim mandu), nothing was over 7,000 won (I think that's about 750 yen, or 4,20 euros), huge portions always with homemade kimchi and other banchan. But at the front of the restaurant they had a kimbap station where they made the best kimbap to-go, man, I miss it.
I love the mix of recipes.
김밥 말 때 끝에 물을 묻히면 잘 붙어요!!!

Omg I held my breath when you were flipping the giant pudding! I'm glad it turned out well, it looks super silky and melty <3 Also I can't believe I never thought of making my own chicken sandwich using family mart fried chicken, I mean it seems obvious, but it completely slipped my mind haha, now I can enjoy something quick yet indulgent and make it more fulfilling with my own ingredients too
Your son's omurice definitely seems like a comfort dish, delicious! Wishing you and your family a lovely week ahead too~
