The Hit Games of 1993: A Nostalgic Deep Dive
Explore 1993’s best selling video games with us and learn some interesting facts along the way. Want to relive one of the greatest gaming decades in history? Do you remember some of these games, or maybe you were born too late and want to check out what you missed out on?
The goal of this series is to present an accurate picture of the games that were actually popular in each year, without over-reliance on subjective bias.
Part of an ongoing series of the 1990s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlfaZC4fy38&list=PL3hIKWjkfSHkPDUf_tJyQdRdwPKEmx8Pv

Notes on methodology:
Availability and accuracy of sales data, especially for older and more obscure titles, is inconsistent, and thus some elements are speculative in nature.
Where data is not available, sales are estimated via:
1) Popularity of the console(s) in the year
2) Lasting cultural impact/legacy
3) Contemporary news and magazine coverage
4) Popularity of the title’s genre in that year
Sales figures represent only sales within the fiscal 1992 year, so for example if a game released near the end of the year, sales usually carry over mostly into the following year. Copies sold are representative of global sales. Some games that launched in only one region in the year, with subsequent regions released in later years, will be adjusted to include only launch region numbers. Later re-releases, remakes, and ports (e.g. virtual console) are usually excluded.

What was YOUR favourite game of 93? I think I need to give this one to All-Stars. If you're gonna do a remake, do it right like this one by Nintendo!
secret of mana goat pre-1994 rpg
Awesome, thank you! There is nothing better than watching this new video on a Saturday morning while sipping a coffee! 🙃 I've always been a huge fan of Aladdin, maybe the only Disney-Game i played several times from beginning to end!
Subscribed, your channel is like a hidden secret that hasn't fully been discovered yet. Wishing you much success
I bought Geo Wars Galaxies as my first DS game, when I finally got a DS in 2021 and I wanted a game for it that I could play in short spurts and when I saw this game, which I knew from having bought Geo Wars Retro Evolved on my 360 ,so I knew exactly how perfect that would be, and honestly, it was even perfecter than I knew, because of all the overall RPG elements in the game making it worth even every losing game, you would at least, get outta there with the money you'd earned on said level. So it's a great title that is ,in my opinion, even better now than it was back then because it used to be passe' and now it kinda stands alone, I personally love it to geoms. Great episode,thAnx
Looord 93 was stacked!!!! Wish I was born earlier to live in such a time!
"Like butter spread over too much bread" 38:08 . So accurate and absurdly original commentary. Just discovered your channel and as I was 13 in 1993 this is insane nostalgia for me
I just wonder why people, and companies especially Sega that don't make new hardware don't develop a new game once in a while for the old hardware…we need to go back to this for real, when games were fun
I had to laugh when you said the Genesis JP programmers went to study dinosaurs and birds. 😊
Super mario World came out in 1990 not 1993. Only in Brazil did it release in 1993.
