Good morning. Waking up to the sound of birdsong. Open the window and the quiet scent of the forest and crisp fresh air fill the room. No alarm—just waking whenever we feel like it. That’s the bliss of a holiday like this. A morning here feels special from the very start. Let’s head out for a morning stroll. There are many hiking trails in the area. Mid-July in Switzerland. In search of an ideal lifestyle, we came to the countryside town of Chemin, surrounded by nature. Chemin is in southwestern Switzerland, about an hour and a half by car from Geneva. Back at the house. Time for a slow coffee break. The living room is filled with the inviting aroma of coffee. The milk for my café latte is Swiss organic whole milk. From the famous Swiss Brown cows— known for their rich, naturally sweet milk. It’s mid-July, and for the past few days the highs have been around 26°C. The low humidity makes it incredibly comfortable. Since coming to Switzerland, I’ve fallen in love with Saturn peaches. They’re donut-shaped peaches, low in acidity and full of sweet flavor. I take my time doing makeup in the bright dining area filled with natural light. I’ve found ways to pack as compactly as possible. We’ll drive about 15 minutes down the mountain for lunch and some shopping. The town at the foot of the mountain is called Martigny— close to both the French and Italian borders. It thrived in ancient Roman times as a key Alpine crossing. Ruins from over 2,000 years ago can still be seen today. Today’s lunch is at an Italian restaurant famous for homemade pasta— A Ma Sauce. You can choose from 20 different sauces and pair them with your choice of pasta. I ordered a Swiss white wine called “Johannisberg.” I chose spaghetti with a sauce made using ’nduja— a spicy sausage. My husband chose reginette—ribbon-shaped pasta— with three sauces: cream, basil, and tomato. Everything is 100% homemade. We actually loved this place so much we came yesterday too— so let me show you what we had then. First, salad and bread are complimentary. I had tagliatelle with a salmon and pistachio sauce. My husband had pappardelle carbonara. It’s a family-run restaurant with a warm, welcoming atmosphere—highly recommended. The pasta was delicious and the service was wonderfully friendly. After lunch, we stopped by Provins Boutique— a wine boutique in the town center. Here you can taste a variety of local wines produced in the canton of Valais. That day, they had 18 wines available—red, white, and rosé. Prices start at just 0.8 francs (about ¥146) per glass—very reasonable— and the staff checked on us often and were incredibly kind. For dinner ingredients, we headed to the supermarket. In Switzerland, Coop and Migros are the two major supermarket chains. First, we visited Coop. Switzerland is known for its high prices. At the time, the Swiss franc was at a record high against the yen— about ¥185 to 1 franc. Coop is known for slightly higher quality, while Migros tends to be more affordable. I love visiting supermarkets abroad. They’re packed with local foods and the atmosphere of everyday life— just looking around is exciting. For seafood, you tell the staff how much you want and they wrap it for you. We also went to a well-regarded greengrocer selling local produce. Fresh ingredients are sold at even lower prices than the supermarkets. Strawberries were $7.18 for 500g. Homemade cheese was $3.71. Now, let me show you around my dream holiday home for the afternoon. This is the room where my husband sleeps. The house faces south, so every room stays bright and pleasant all day long. Around the hallway is the room where I sleep. A cozy room with the warmth of wood, and both bedrooms have double beds for plenty of space. Between the two bedrooms is a bathroom, accessible directly from either room. Even in summer, mornings and evenings are cool—so having a bathtub is a treat. The shower has both a handheld and a rain shower option. Upstairs you’ll find the kitchen, dining, and living areas. The upper floor is also south-facing, so it’s bright and airy. We’ve shown quite a bit of the surrounding town today, but simply spending time here doing nothing is pure luxury. This room is literally called the “technical room” in translation— it houses all the building’s mechanical systems. Let’s get today’s laundry going. While we wait, it’s coffee time. I made a café latte using milk from Gruyère, famous for its cheese. Let’s also enjoy the strawberries I picked up earlier at the greengrocer. They’re sweet and fragrant, almost like berry perfume. This cheese is also from the shop earlier. It’s called Sérac d’Alpage— a whey cheese with a texture similar to ricotta. The laundry is done, so I hung it out to dry. With the low humidity in Europe, laundry dries crisp and fresh—it’s satisfying. Even after 7 p.m., the summer sky here is still bright. Outside the window, the quiet forest and the gentle sound of wind. As they sizzle invitingly, the cherry tomatoes and mushrooms turn golden and fragrant. This evening, once again, my husband prepared dinner. In our home, he’s the skilled cook. The sautéed mushrooms and tomatoes are served over an organic vegetable salad. The highest-grade Norwegian salmon is served sashimi-style. We brought the soy sauce, Japanese rice, and instant miso soup from Japan. Even far away from home, the gentle, comforting taste of Japanese food soothes the soul. Ending the day like this is the greatest happiness. Let me also show you another dinner from a different day. A soup of scallops, mushrooms, and green onions, with a bonito broth base. A gentle flavor that brings peace of mind. The main dish that day was Swiss beef tenderloin steak. It bears the Swiss Guarantee label, meeting strict quality standards. Lean, incredibly tender, and full of refined flavor. Cooked to perfection. With the dishes in the dishwasher, we have free time. While in Switzerland, I couldn’t get enough of walking— averaging between 15,000 and 25,000 steps a day. As night falls and the quiet deepens, I soak in the bath, savoring the memories of the day. Above me, the night sky is filled with countless stars. A faint ribbon of light drifts across. The Milky Way glides gently, as if painting the slow passage of time. Wrapped in deep relaxation, I drift into another peaceful sleep. Good night. Good morning. I make the bed neatly and head upstairs. Today, we leave Switzerland for Japan. While tidying up, I’ll show you what’s stocked in this house. From large to small, the kitchen is fully equipped with cooking tools. A cutting board, large citrus juicer, kitchen paper, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, baking sheets, strainers, garlic press, oven mitts, and a large blender. A built-in oven blends seamlessly into the interior. The pantry is well-stocked with seasonings—salt, pepper, sugar, olive oil, plus several other types of oil. There’s wine vinegar, consommé, and countless spices, several kinds of pasta, canned beans, flour, and other dry goods. A hand blender, oven-safe dishes, and of course plenty of pots and pans— everything you need to start cooking right away. The cupboards hold an abundance of plates, bowls, and glasses, and the drawers are lined with forks, knives, and spoons. I clean the kitchen and bathroom areas thoroughly. I arrange the Nespresso capsules so the expiration dates are easy to see. The trash is sorted and taken to the designated spot. Now, it’s a 1.5-hour drive to Geneva Airport. The name of this house is Chalet Nagomi. The place I’ve shown you isn’t our personal home, but a rental holiday home. It’s available on Airbnb for around $400 per night, open to anyone. An ideal holiday in a dreamlike space. Traveling as if living in the place. It was a time filled with happiness. I hope this has been helpful to you. See you in the next video. Thank you very much for watching until the end.

Le mirador
Paraggi
Château De Crémat
