小泉進次郎は、1981年4月14日、神奈川県横須賀市に生まれました。父は元内閣総理大臣の小泉純一郎、兄は俳優の小泉孝太郎という家庭に育ち、幼少期から「政治」と「注目」の中で人生を歩み始めます。
父の多忙な政治活動と離婚により、家庭環境は決して穏やかとは言えませんでしたが、進次郎は地元の公立小学校・中学校を経て関東学院大学へ進学。その後、アメリカのコロンビア大学大学院に進学し、政治・政策を本格的に学びます。卒業後は米国のシンクタンク・CSISで研鑽を積み、国際的視野を身につけて帰国しました。

Shinjiro Koizumi was born on April 14, 1981 in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture. His father was Junichiro Koizumi, a former Prime Minister, and his brother was Kotaro Koizumi, an actor. From an early age, he began his life surrounded by politics and attention.
His father’s busy political activities and divorce meant that his family environment was far from peaceful, but Shinjiro went on to Kanto Gakuin University after attending a local public elementary and junior high school. He then went on to graduate school at Columbia University in the United States to study politics and policy in earnest. After graduating, he studied at the American think tank CSIS, and returned to Japan with an international perspective.
In 2009, at the age of 28, he was first elected as a member of the House of Representatives. Although he was criticized for inheriting a political base, his refreshing image, crisp speeches, and passion for local activities were highly praised, and he quickly gained national recognition. He was also called the “post-Abe” and “future prime minister candidate,” and became a figure that attracted attention both inside and outside the party.
In 2019, he joined the cabinet for the first time as Minister of the Environment.
