[Music] Tokimaru Tanaka’s Morning RadioGood morning everyone, it’s Tokimaru.Today is Wednesday, July 2nd, and the time is 6 o’clock in the morning.I’m broadcasting from White Box Studio in Tokyo again today. How is everyone doing? It’s already July.It goes by so quickly.Today’s opening is a little sad, it feels like the beginning of summer.Yeah, I tried to play it with that kind of atmosphere. It’s so hot already, it’s amazing, isn’t it?It’s July so far, so I wonder if the hottest time is from July to August.I think it’s about this time, but it feels like the heat is getting hotter every time.Everyone please be careful of heat stroke and the like.I think I said on the previous radio show that there was an announcement from the waterworks bureau, and there has been an update to that.Maybe it’s because I spoke about it on this radio show, but I don’t think so.The waterworks bureau properly announced on July 1st that the basic water bill for the next four months will be free.It will be free of charge. There was a surprise mark on it, and I feel like I’m really motivated. It’s amazing how it’s free and it’s amazing how small outlets are available. This part is a bit mysterious, and it’s a bit too technical, but it says that small outlets 13, 20, 22, 5 and 25 mm are eligible. What is this? Does small outlet refer to the water faucet or some kind of water vessel ? There are several faucets in the house, aren’t there in the bathroom, sink, kitchen, etc? I think it’s probably the size of the water supply that’s connected to the house. I don’t really know, but please don’t refrain from using the air conditioner, and take thorough measures against thickness. And again, it’s about the air conditioner, isn’t it? It’s not about the water, it ‘s about the air conditioner, so it’s electricity, right? The mystery only deepens . It’s broadcast every Wednesday morning from 6am, and it’s Maruta’s Morning Radio. I was thinking about the title, but I’m back to Morning Radio again . In the end, I’ll be talking for about an hour today, so please use it for work. Listen, I’m going to take it easy, so if we start the morning too fast, let’s take it slowly. A slow morning. Recently, there’s been a lot of talk about the world ending on the 5th of July, but I ‘d like to share my opinion on that. Don’t just take it at face value. There ‘s this manga artist who wrote that the 5th of July will be a disaster, and it seems to be spreading that something will happen between the Philippines and Japan, and that we will be hit by a huge tsunami, but the Japan Meteorological Agency has announced that there is nothing like that, and to be careful when traveling. As a result, flights to and from Hong Kong have been suspended, and tourist groups from Korea have been canceled, and there are all kinds of actual restrictions , or rather actions being taken, and people who like to believe that sort of thing are temporarily evacuating to places like Yamanashi or Nagano. It seems that some people are coming out with this information, but actually , I’ve been paying attention to this since last year, or rather , I heard from a certain source, well, Tanaka Naka, that there is something like a Hindu astrological calendar called the Hindu New Year Chart, and that it predicts that something like this will occur around July 5th. So, I already knew about this information last year, and recently the manga’s predictions have been coming in and it feels like it’s getting popular, but when you actually look into it, there are some suspicious points, and it seems that the Hindu New Year Chart says that the color will be in a position on that day and will form an aspect of Mars, and that this indicates the timing when disasters are likely to occur, and that it is predicted that something like a once in thousands or tens of thousands of years will occur, or something like that, someone wrote on a blog. Apparently, it was probably an overseas blog, and it was someone in Japan who read it and it reached my ears, and it is important that information is given priority, so I’ve been talking about this and that on YouTube and stuff , but that is also secondary and tertiary information, so I think that in times like these, the most important thing is to go and get the information officially released by the Japan Meteorological Agency, for example. We know that in past earthquakes and other disasters in Japan , information like that is the most likely to spread, so in terms of minimalism, I think that the theory of minimalism can be applied there too . In conclusion, within the scope of what is scientifically known, on July 5th, 2025 , It is true that there are no events scheduled for a planetary collision or a global disaster, and such events are not even listed in the risk management list of international organizations like NASASA, so if they are not registered, then a celestial collision or something like that will form a sun color aspect in the Hindu New Year chart, which I have heard since last year, and this is specifically about Vedic astrology, and there is a genre or type of astrology called Vedic , and it seems that this is written in, but in reality, it has come out that a sun color aspect will not form with respect to the planets, and there is no sun in July, but I don’t really understand this either, but as for a celestial collision, NASA has been monitoring it and basically there are no confirmed celestial bodies that will pose a threat within the next 100 years , so ASA has officially released this, so that’s what I’m thinking about this incident, and so that’s what I’ve been thinking about. So, I’ve thought again about the importance of going out and getting the right information, and recently I wrote an article on stockpiles in the membership section, and that was about the United States, Iran, and Israel , so I thought about stockpiles once again, and I think that when crises like these, like the current rumors, spread, it might be a good idea to reconsider how to prepare yourself. However, there’s no point in worrying too much, and especially in this internet age, I think that the ability to go out and get the right information yourself and the ability to properly manage that information are all the more necessary. Muramaru Murata NakaThe scenery I saw this week was amazing this weekI saw some amazing scenery this weekYeah, I got on that train again, it’s been a while since I last did it, and it was pretty daytime , and when I got on, there was this lady, or rather, lady sitting there, and I happened to be standing in front of her , and she had two smartphones in her hands , and a movie was playing on one of them, and I just happened to see it like this, a movie was playing on the other smartphone, which was held vertically, and she was playing a game on it, it was amazing, she had a self-dual display , or rather, she made a dual display herself, and she was watching a movie on one side and listening to music , or rather, playing a game on the other, and I thought it was amazing , and she was demonstrating incredible multitasking, and it made me embarrassed to talk about digital detox and digital decluttering, this lady was using digital technology so well, yeah, this was the scenery I saw this week, and it was quite shocking. But I think it’s amazing that you can do that, and I think that kind of thing is a bit of a technique, and I think that it’s not good for you to lose your concentration, but I think that it’s up to the person what they want to do while they’re traveling on the train, so they should do what they like, but I don’t think I can do that while watching a movie, or rather, I don’t think I would have thought of it, so I don’t know what that feels like, and I think that maybe I should try it, but smartphones are basically two You need that, and to watch movies or dramas you need to be on the train for a certain amount of time, and I don’t think it’s much use to watch something for just 10 or 5 minutes, so I think it’s pretty amazing to be on a long train and watch a movie while playing a game here , and then , changing the subject a bit, my recent hobby, or rather this week’s hobby, is a band called Bump of Chicken, who I’m sure you’re all familiar with, and those of you of that generation who watch them, Bump of Chicken have a fairly long history, and one of their songs is called Stargazing, and singing about stargazing as a way to talk about retirement and about retiring from work is my current obsession this week. I’m not sure what I’m talking about, but at the beginning there was a song called Stargazing, and it was called Western retirement, and it was something like , Right, I was walking and it was so hot, in the scorching heat of Tokyo, and the futon came off, and it was like “astronomy observation”, tote tote tote , and then the intro started and “astronomy observation” came on, and I was humming and walking along feeling really good, but for some reason the idea of retirement really hit home, and I wondered if it was about that time of year, or rather, Bum of Chicken released “astronomy observation” when I was in elementary school, so it must have been 10 years, or maybe 25 years, or maybe more, and so although Bump of Chicken won’t retire until then, they are about as old as me and us, we live in the same era, so it’s been about 25 years since I was in junior high school, and the people who listened to them are about to get old, I think that’s the way of thinking, and for some reason, it’s now popular for me to sing about stargazing when talking about retirement. However , I think that retirement is quite a death sentence. In some large companies, when you retire, it’s like congratulations on your retirement, it’s like a graduation, you get a huge retirement bonus , you quit the company and then start your life in retirement. But recently, there are places where there is a labor shortage in the employment situation, and the population is aging rapidly, so one in three or one in two people is already an old man, and the atmosphere is like that, so even if you want to retire, you can’t. I think that there is a feeling that way. People continue to work even after they’re 65, and also, I think that there is something about the pension system. So how many people can survive on that pension alone? It would be great if they could save up a retirement fund by then, but I think that many people can’t, and when that happens, even after retirement you still have to work, it doesn’t end at 65, it doesn’t end at 60 or 65, and healthy life expectancy and life expectancy are increasing, so if everyone keeps working, then stargazing becomes a pretty important job, and it ‘s hard to find a job that will allow you to look for the stars and retire successfully, it ‘s difficult to know, and it’s difficult, and so, yeah, I’m sorry to all the Bump of Chicken fans, but that’s the kind of thing that came to me, so let’s move on to today’s song, Lady G, Gab, Brun Mars Diewithsmile , no, you’ve heard it, you’d think that Astronomical Observation would be chosen in this flow, but no, it’s not, Lady Ga and Blue Mars, which will be released around 2024 as a duet song, with sm Mai, and recently that guy from Warlock covered this song, and the cover was really good , so I thought I’d listen to the original again, and so I chose this song. It’s very romantic, romantic, but also quite destructive, or rather, the lyrics are not like this, yes, it’s a great song, and the high-pitched voice is also wonderful. Today’s Yoga Sutra corner, well, we started last week, and we randomly choose a page from the Yoga Sutara and read the sutra on that page. So let’s get started today , and we’ll start around here, and we’ve come to a pretty half-baked part, like this 27 Page 2 Pratyahara is another way of controlling the mind, but it is not easy to master it. It is premature to think that you have mastered it after one or two years of training. It can slip away at any time. For example, a person who is interested in maintaining strict financial desires should maintain a distance from women. He need not spend money on women, but he should not treat them as he would treat his sisters, for example, with casual rituals or with shaves. Though the mouth may call them sisters, the senses will interpret the act differently. To reach the essence of yoga, one must adhere to these precautions and acquire the qualifications. The guitar says that yoga is not for those who eat too much , nor for those who eat too little. It is not for those who sleep too much, nor for those who sleep too little. In other words, do not go to extremes, but know the limits . This is difficult too, but this is an explanation of the pratyahara, and I just read this theory on this page, and it’s a little earlier, and if you read verse 1, it’s verse 54, and it says that when the first senses withdraw from their object and, so to speak, simulate the true nature of the mind, that is pratyahara. That’s all it is written in the sutra, and this is the only part written, but the interpretation of it that I read out earlier is about controlling the mind, pratyahara, and so pratyahara is the fifth of the eight sutras , I think it’s the sixth, or Sri Lanka, Pratyana , or Dharana … Or rather, it’s about leading the way, or rather, controlling it, and putting yourself in a state where you’re not so sensitive to the stimuli around you, and that’s the kind of training or branch that you need to do . And as one example of this, the example of the desire for money is given, so in order to completely and strictly protect that desire for money , the book thinks that you should n’t even make simple contact with things like that. And I think the last sentence is quite important, it says not to go to extremes, but to know the limits. So, in the end, the idea of seeking the middle is in the theory or nature of yoga, and one theory about this is explained in the book, so it’s not about eating too much, but not not eating at all, and not sleeping too much, but not not sleeping at all either, Sleep properly, sleep well, get enough sleep, eat properly , but don’t eat too much or not at all either, eat a balance that’s right for you, so aim for that, know your limits, find balance, so yoga is about finding balance, and so just because pratia is about controlling the senses doesn’t mean you shouldn’t shut everything down, but by increasing your concentration you should continue training to avoid being exposed to all kinds of bad stress and bad surroundings, so that ‘s the nuance I’m interpreting now. So, these sutras, how should I put it, are really just short sentences that are presented to you , and they are interpreted in various ways, so of course it is completely different depending on the person at the time, and even for the same person, it can change depending on your mood that day, how you read it that day, and how you interpret the text. So, in the sense that it’s a one-time thing , I think it’s quite suitable for this radio show, or rather, this video. If you’re doing yoga or want to learn, please give it a read. Next, we have the letter corner. Thank you for the many letters we’ve received this week. We’ve posted them in the description, so please feel free to send in your letters from there. Anything is OK, love advice, minimalism advice, extreme advice, etc. Questions for MarutanakaAny funny thing that happened to you recently?Any songs you’ve been into lately? Please send me anything you like. There were quite a lot of letters this time.Well, there weren’t many last time, but this time I said please send a lot and quite a lot of people sent me some.Okay , let’s start with the first one.Good morning from radio name RN.I have both a charger and a mobile battery, or an IQ type.Recently, there have been more and more mobile batteries with plugs and people say they are convenient, but when I charge while I’m on the move, I feel the pain of the built-in plug. That ‘s why I use a thin QI type mobile battery.Of course, there are Qi type ones with plugs too, but they are thicker and I miss the benefit of being able to use my smartphone while charging. It will be gone, so what do you think about this, Tokima? Do you avoid charging while on the move? Will the day come when someone like me will be able to combine my charger and mobile battery? So, yes, it’s a question about mobile batteries. Yes, but I carry a separate charger and a Q-type mobile battery. I guess you keep them separate because you’re worried about the pain. I think this is a great idea, but I do n’t like having to carry so many things, so I only have one plug-in type. Yes, you wrote that the benefit of the extra thickness is that you can use your smartphone while it’s charging, but I try not to touch my smartphone too much when it’s charging . Yes, actually, when I’m on the move, I like to keep it on all the time. Because we tend to touch our smartphones a lot, by charging it we are turning it into off-time. If I have a paper book with me, I’ll read it, or if I ‘m with someone, I’ll talk to them, or I’ll just stare at the scenery and meditate, or something like that. So, I don’t avoid charging my smartphone while I’m on the move, but I basically don’t touch it while it’s charging. Also, when I’m walking, I just put my smartphone in my backpack and leave it in an uncharged state, and it’s like it’s charging automatically while I’m walking, so there’s no problem at all. I guess you could think of it as a digital detox, and if you do it that way, you don’t have to touch it. I think it will progress, and I think it will probably be possible to integrate it, so if you want to reduce the number, please try it. It has really made things easier. I have already switched to the plug type, and I am using a plug type 10,000 yen, but I updated it from 5000 to 10,000 yen. The other day, it was no problem. So, here is the next letter. Radio name: Jam Hey Hey, thank you as always, Toma- san, I just found out that the garlic in the refrigerator has mold in it. It was a huge shock. I never imagined that the garlic in the seasoning section would go moldy. At the same time, I was reminded that it is the rainy season now, and that mold is likely to grow. Sadly, I threw the garlic in the trash can, and then I suddenly wondered, it’s the trash can. Tokimaru-san’s room There are no trash cans to be found on the tour . Tokimaru-san, how do you manage your burnable trash and recyclable trash? First of all, about the mold on the indestructible muscle, that was a real shock. I’m sorry for the injury. It does get moldy, doesn’t it? It gets moldy surprisingly easily. If you leave it unused, then you know, so trash cans , I think I uploaded a video quite a while ago about how to live without using trash cans. I wonder if I deleted it or something. But it wasn’t specifically about trash cans, it was like a way to keep your room clean, and one method of doing that is to not have a trash can in your room, and not use a trash can. So it’s been quite a while since I got rid of trash cans, yes, it’s been more than 10 years since trash cans disappeared from my life, and since then I’ve just used the plastic ones that you get in ordinary supermarkets, I use plastic bags , or rather plastic bags, so I don’t have any trash cans , but when I have trash, I just put it directly into the bag and put it in a corner, and then I take it out on trash day. I wonder about the trash cans, and I wonder if it’s a good idea to have a box just to throw away trash. So just having one makes the room feel cramped, especially if you live in a small room like me. The first time I got inspiration was when I went to Paris in France, and I think if you’ve been there, you’ll know that there are no trash cans in the streets of Paris, but there are things that look like trash cans, and they are like this. There are four rings with transparent plastic bags hanging from them, like green ones, and this is to prevent terrorism and other things from being thrown away, but it also seems to make the work of collecting them easier, so the garbage collectors can just take it away, so it’s easy to throw it away and easy to collect it in the collection truck, and it just looked so beautiful. I don’t know if it’s because I was in Paris, but in the city of Paris, in the setting sun or the morning sun, just the plastic bag was shining, and I thought, are the garbage cans in Paris so stylish ? I never knew they could be so stylish. The nature of light is different too, but I was inspired by this and when I came back to Tokyo, That reminded me, so I thought maybe just plastic would be fine, and that’s how I got rid of the trash can. Since then, I haven’t used a trash can at all. Recyclable waste and things like that, basically, in Tokyo, it depends on the ward, but it’s quite combustible, and you can generally put it out as burnable waste, so you have to separate cans and bottles, but I hardly produce any waste at all. I do n’t drink drinks from plastic bottles, and I don’t drink alcohol at home either, so I’ve almost stopped drinking , and I occasionally produce a roll of beer, but even if I drink one bottle a week, it ‘s only one, so I just leave it by the entrance or somewhere similar and throw it away on garbage day. So, the recyclable waste bags and the plastic waste bags are non-burnable, They don’t separate burnable trash at all, so in that sense it’s pretty minimalist and simplified, and it’s easy and doesn’t take much time. However, the supermarket started charging for garbage bags, and that production was, well, it was, well, it was, well, but I almost never buy them anymore. I don’t even buy garbage bags, I just throw away the plastic bag or garbage bag that I was given. Next up is your radio name, Hot Coffee . I always look forward to your videos, and I listen to the radio every week while washing my hands. This may be sudden, but I’ve recently started looking for glasses. I had a one-on-one session to help me choose the shape, and in the end I bought a pair of glasses that I thought were expensive, or more expensive than my rent. Come to think of it, it was the first expensive purchase I’ve ever made in my life. What kind of thing did you buy when you made your first expensive purchase in your life? If you can’t use it, how much would it cost? Please let me know. I would be happy if you could do that, so that’s great, so you wash your hands before choosing, that’s also amazing, wash your hands, and congratulations on the height of the glasses, yes , it’s really great, isn’t it? It’s one-on-one, you choose the shape, your eyesight is measured and the lenses are put in, so yeah, the experience of buying glasses is quite fulfilling, isn’t it? The process, of course it’s a hassle, but every time I buy glasses, it’s something I’ll be using all the time and my qualifications are directly linked to my eyesight so it’s quite a fulfilling experience, yeah, it feels like that, and they’re always expensive, you know, engineering, they write that it’s more expensive than rent, but no, it really is expensive, and recently prices have been rising so the prices of frames and lenses have been going up and up so it’s quite expensive, so it’s the first expensive purchase of my life, I don’t know, but I think it changes with the times, you know, when I was in my teens, twenties, thirties When you’re a teenager, the first thing you buy is probably when you’re in elementary school and you’re getting an allowance, and there are discussions about what would happen if you put in something that costs 5,000 or 10,000 yen, which is quite expensive, but if you go back that far, it’s a bit… Speaking for myself, it would probably be a guitar. Yes, the most expensive thing I bought was a guitar. At first, I think the first guitar I bought was a Randy V, made by a company called Jackson . So I had this guitar, and I can’t remember how much it cost at the time, but I think it was around 240,000 or 300,000 yen, something like that. I bought it when I was 19, 18, or 19, a student, saving up money from a part-time job. It was quite exciting, it cost over 200,000 yen, but I think that was the biggest experience of saving up money to buy something myself. It was the first one, and after that I bought cars and stuff, but the guitar at that time was, well, Jackson’s, Randy V, what was it called, there’s a guitar manufacturer called Jackson, and it’s made in the United States, The Randy V is a little different from the normal Flying V, it has a bad shape and looks really bad, it’s a guitar with a leather jacket and long sleeves, like the ones used by hard rock and heavy metal people, how should I put it, there’s a guitarist called Randy Rhoads, and he used to use a guitar with a short wing on one side, and there was a melodic heavy metal band that I liked at the time called Children of Bodom, and their lead singer, Alexi Laiho, used that guitar, and he’s been my hero ever since. Of course I was also a huge fan of the original guitarist Randy Rhoads and he was a member of Geos Boom for a while and Randy died in a plane crash but I used the same model that he used and I think that was the most expensive guitar I’ve ever used. Talking about music would take too long so I’ll stop here. I received a letter from a man named Leonardo Da Vinci on my radio. He has amazing history and I’ve received letters from historical figures. Leonardo Da Vinci said, “Good morning Tokimaru-san. I ‘m a very stingy college student who doesn’t own many things. I’ve finally started washing my laundry by hand recently. Until now I’d only go to the laundromat once I had a certain amount of laundry piled up. But one day , I realized that if I reduced the number of clothes to two and washed them by hand every day, there would be no waste and it wouldn’t cost money. They say that washing by hand is not time-efficient, but it feels really good to wash off the dirt from the day myself. I’ve been living with it for over half a month now, and it ‘s very minimal and comfortable. Is there any reason why you continue to use the washing machine ? I would be grateful if you could tell me about your washing experience so far. Leonardo is also still washing his clothes by hand. Hot Coffee from earlier is also washing his clothes by hand, and this Da Vinci has also started washing his clothes by hand, so it seems like there’s a hand washing boom. It ‘s becoming more and more common to reduce the number of clothes you own to just two and wash your clothes by hand every day, which is great and there’s no waste, and I really understand how nice it feels to wash off the day’s dirt yourself, and there was a time when I did that too, and when I’m traveling or something, I sometimes wash my clothes by hand , so I wash them quickly and then hang them out to dry at the end, and that act is definitely quite mindful, and people say that having to move your hands like this is a pain , but it doesn’t take that much time, and it’s actually wonderful to have the leisure to enjoy it in life. I think it’s because of the commitment I have shown to continue using that washing machine, and I also think that, you know, when people talk about minimalism, there are things like drum-type washing machines, which are hassle-free and so people say that buying one of them will make them the happiest, and that it’s the ultimate time-saving item, but of course drum-type dryers have the advantage of being able to dry clothes directly in the dryer, and I understand that they are good, but they are heavy and expensive, and I use a lot of wool products, so I think mountain gear is a good choice. Well, I have a lot of hiking gear and stuff like that, so when it comes to that, it’s not something I can really give my opinion on, and natural drying is overwhelmingly better because clothes last longer, so in that sense, I use a regular washing machine instead of a drum type, and it’s cheaper. Another thing I’m particular about is this type, or rather the current Muji type, and as you can see in the pictures, a regular washing machine like this can be bought for around 20,000 to 30,000 yen, but a drum type would probably cost around 190,000 to 200,000 yen, so when I think about the cost-effectiveness, I think that in the same situation, I almost never stay in one place forever, and even when I came to Tokyo I’ve moved a lot, about every two or three years, so from now on I’m thinking of not just staying in Tokyo but also moving to the countryside and living in a window-style style, so I don’t have the idea of carrying the same things all the time. So, in the end, this is connected to the idea of one bag, one life, and so, simply put, anything is fine as long as I have the choice, as long as it’s cheap and I can use it temporarily at the time, and the same goes for mattresses and things that fit in one backpack, so in that sense I choose things that I want to carry with me for a long time, things that I want to keep using for a long time, and I think of the things that I have in my house as part of my home, as infrastructure, so anything is fine. If you can use it for a certain number of years, then so, when I use this washing machine, my impression is that I don’t need to dry it, and you know, Da Vinci also wrote about two pieces of clothing, but I also only have those two, so basically this and one more, and two yoga practice pieces, so a total of four T-shirts right now , so basically I select it every day, but the amount I select is extremely small, so I select things like towels and pillowcases, and the amount somehow comes out, but even so, the amount that can be selected is only about 15 liters of water, and I always use something like a speed mode, so it takes about 15 to 20 minutes, so it’s not at all hassle. Of course, I can wash it by hand, but when I do that, it’s a bit like hiking gear, so for example, I have to carry a sleeping bag, Washing things can be quite difficult, and then there’s sheets and stuff, and it’s a concept type thing, you can’t wash big things like that, so I thought I’d like to have a washing machine, and there was actually a time when I lived in a laundry life, or rather a laundry lifestyle, and that was when I was living in a shared house, and I was living in an apartment that had a laundry space within the apartment, so the structure means that you can’t put a washing machine in the room, and there are apartments in Tokyo where the structure means that you can’t put a washing machine in the room, and when I lived in a place like that, there was a laundry space on the first floor or something, and I would go there to do my laundry myself, but when I was living in that kind of apartment, I was stressed out by the fact that I couldn’t make choices when I wanted to, and how can I put it, I want to make choices when I want to, because there are so few of them That’s why there are times when you realize that if you don’t select this at this timing, it won’t run out by this time the next day, so it’s not just at night , but also before you go to bed and when you wake up in the morning, and when that happens, it’s most convenient to have a washing machine in your room, so if you can wash your clothes by hand, I think it’s best to do so, but more than that, the idea is to conserve, or rather reduce, the time spent washing your clothes by hand and leave it to the machine, so the washing machine issue is quite difficult, but recently in Tokyo, for example, there are more and more stores that have laundry spaces and cafes attached, and people can make their selections while they’re working, and while they’re making their selections, they can also communicate and hold meetings, and so on and so forth, and so in that sense, it’s surprising to see that the externalization of infrastructure is progressing quite a bit. I feel like society is changing, and next up is the radio name I received this from a woman who has had a rebound in plants before, it’s quite an impactful radio name I remember it as it’s a pretty impactful name so I have a question for you, Tokimaru-san, what are your thoughts on satisfaction with things ? Until two years ago I was a minimalist, but in the last two years I ‘ve become interested in clothes and plants, and as a result I’ve become conscious of not only functionality but also satisfaction. For example, with clothes I don’t just choose clothes based on functionality like how comfortable they are to wear, I also choose clothes based on the satisfaction I get when I see them in front of the mirror or when I think I’m wearing them, and as a result recently there are days when I cut out clothes that are uncomfortable but make me feel good, and days when I wear clothes that don’t make me feel good but are comfortable. What are your thoughts on satisfaction with things, Tokimaru- san? So it’s a very interesting letter, recently I’ve become interested in clothes and plants, and it’s nice, it’s kind of aerobic, I’d like to open a cafe like that, plants and clothes, clothes and plants . Yes, clothes and plants It feels like the name of the store could become a store name, and as a result, recently there are days when I wear clothes that are uncomfortable but make me feel good, and clothes that don’t make me feel good but are comfortable – it’s difficult and quite philosophical, but I always choose clothes that are comfortable and make me feel good. So, a while ago when I wore brand name clothes, it was like, it was a little uncomfortable but I wear it because it makes me feel good, but gradually it became like this, how can I put it, I look like an old man walking around the neighborhood, it’s like, you can go up a mountain or something, running , or some other athletic technique, so it’s athletic technique, it’s more like sportswear, but even within sportswear there are various designs, functionality, sensor versions, and so it’s clothing that makes you feel good and is also functional. So I try to find a compromise there, and that’s what I introduce in my wardrobe introductions and things like that, and then the question that stems from that is, what are your thoughts about the sense of satisfaction with an item? I think that satisfaction with an item has many different aspects, just like the plant-based rebound Honor wrote, and that satisfaction has all sorts of different aspects. Sometimes you feel satisfied because you bought something cheap, and on the other hand, there are times when you feel like you bought something at a high price and it was worth the money you spent. For example, you might buy something from a high-end brand, or you might buy something on a whim , but the silhouette or the texture of the material fits you really well and it feels comfortable to wear every day, and so on and so forth. So, while there are all kinds of satisfactions like that, I feel like I’m unconsciously searching for something that makes me feel comfortable, but it varies quite a bit depending on the thing, so I can’t really say what it is in general, but so I guess you could break down that feeling of satisfaction a little and think about what it is like for you. If you think about what it is that you’re satisfied with, it will help you to think about the thing and whether you really need it, and things like that. It’s a thought-provoking letter . Thank you for the last letter . From Ikemono Ikemono-san, the radio name is Ikemono, my name is Ikemono, it’s really small, Ikemono-san, it’s hard to pronounce, nice to meet you, last September I sprained my leg and was struggling in bed when I found Tokimaru-san by chance, and from then on I started to reduce the amount of stuff I own and cut it in half, so I started doing Akitaga yoga as a way to deal with the sprain, and for the past 9 months I’ve been feeling great both physically and mentally, and I owe it all to Tokimaru-san, thank you so much, so far. I’m happy to receive a letter of thanks . Thank you. I sprained my leg in September last year, and I’ve been doing the same thing for a while, so we’re friends who have been through a sprain since then. Since then , he has reduced the amount of stuff he owns and has even started doing light therapy. He says he’s feeling good both physically and mentally. That’s wonderful. His radio name is “no living things,” but he’s not living at all. He’s cut the amount of stuff he owns in half and is doing well tomorrow, so that’s great. When I hear reports like this, I feel like I’m joking around, joking around, and hearing about minimalism and yoga tomorrow and stuff like that until I get sick of it. I’m sure there are some people who think that yoga is fine now , but when I hear stories like this, it really gives me courage. Thank you. That’s all for this week’s letters, and I’ll see you next week. Please apply as much as you want. Now, I’ll continue by reading out the comments. There have been a lot of letters today, so I’ll keep the comments short. It’s a video about the daily life of a single man in his 30s, and a message from him about his human nature. I received a comment saying “Thank you for your hard work.” This made me very happy. Thank you very much. It’s the real deal. When people say “Thank you for your hard work” to me, I feel like I have to do more as a human being. That ‘s how I feel. Right now, I’m going to be working on my human work this week too. I always want to have this setup , the floors, all the basic furniture, the bed, the table, and the seat. For my mattress life, I wanted this kind of setup, yes, a floor, basic and basic furniture, a basic bed, that table and a seat. Recently, there’s been a lot of English in the comments as well, and in terms of analytics, it’s half American and half European, but what’s being watched is a parody of the Discovery Channel, which I received from Tori-san, who said, “Please do it again. ” Well, I’m thinking of doing something, I guess I should do it soon, or something like that has been coming up within me, and actually, I was just about at the time when I was thinking about it, so I might do it again soon. Excuse me for asking a question, but if you were to buy a car, what would you buy, and I received a question from Juguri-san, and a car, what car should I buy? Bentley, Porsche, Aston Martin, etc. If I were to buy a car, I’d probably also get a Rolls Royce, etc. Yes, I do feel that things like that suit him, and then there’s the Range Rover, or rather the Range Rover, because he’s part of the British upper class, so yes, I’d like to say something like that, but what would I buy? The car I drove was a Mazda. The first Mazda car I drove was a two-seater sports car called the Roadster , and that was the first car I drove . I think I was about 20 years old, when I was a student, and it was already worn out, so I bought a second-hand car. That was the first one I drove, and it has continued to evolve since then, and the Roadster I drove was an early type called NA, so if I were to live by car again, I would choose a Roadster or something like that, a small, minimalist car that’s a little easy to maneuver , a compact car, a car with a sense of fun, and fun to drive. I’m sure he’ll buy something like a luxury car , but I don’t have any plans to buy one, so it’s not that easy, but maybe Mr. Zhiguli is thinking about buying a car recently, and if there is a car he wants to buy, please let me know. Three ways of thinking to stop buying things. Also, coincidentally, speaking of cars, I currently own a car, but the maintenance costs and mental stress are high, and I’m realizing that it doesn’t suit my tastes. Rather than seeing it as a failure, I think the good thing about minimalism is that it allows you to recognize and confirm how you feel about the things you have given up, so he says that he owns a car, but it’s quite difficult to maintain and causes him a lot of stress, and he’s in the process of re-recognizing that, so instead of seeing it as a failure, there are things you can understand by looking at it like this, so I think that Mr. Zhiguli will also be able to understand the big difference by owning a car. So, there are things that you wouldn’t have known unless you had a car, and having a car definitely expands your range of activities, and so it obviously broadens your life experiences, and I know that myself, so that’s why I’ve ended up with the style I have now, and when I had a car I had a lot of fun and I could go to all kinds of places, but of course I’ve had some dangerous experiences, like slipping in the snow and almost having an accident several times, and I actually did have a rear-end collision, so I think those kinds of experiences are all important, and so now that I’ve made the choice not to have a car, I may well enter a lifestyle where I own a car again, but It’s only because I’ve had one that I understand, and then the next time I think I should have one, there’s that place or phase where I’m in a position where I’ve probably never experienced it, and then I’m almost 40 and I get my license and I can’t drive a car for the first time, so I think it’s probably not something that you can do when you’re in your 20s or even teens, but you get your license and actually buy it yourself, with your own money, and drive the car you like, and by having that experience, new options come up, so I guess minimalism is something that can only be achieved through experience , and on the last radio show, what do you think of Mount Hagen Organic Fairtrade instant coffee? The taste and design are both sophisticated and I think it’s very Tokimaru-san-like, and no, this is something that I’m a little curious about, Mount Hagen Organic Fairtrade, and I think that when I go to the supermarket, I’ve seen it sold quite a bit and it’s quite expensive so I thought I might give it a try once. I recently received the Gold Blend as a gift and now I have two regular standard Gold Blends and a half Nescafe so I’m a bit overwhelmed with Nescafe. I’d like to try other coffees like UCC but it seems like I can’t get away from Nescafe. For a while, I’ll be waiting for Toby. Thank you for always uploading videos. What job did you dream of as a boy? If so, I’d like to know the reason. Sorry for the sudden question. I’ll continue to support you. So what job did you dream of as a boy? First of all, when was that boyhood ? When you were 10 years old, I think you were a teenager. When you were a teenager you went through a lot of changes. You know, when you were in elementary school you often talked about your dreams for the future and it was an indispensable part of your work. I guess you can say that I didn’t have any dreams at all, so I’ve always lived in the present, and I never really thought about the future. But somehow there was this pressure, you know? I was swept away by the pressure to have dreams for the future, and I came up with all sorts of dreams and wrote about all sorts of things. I think the works I wrote when I was in elementary school were about being a professional golfer, another was about an angler, a master of fishing, and then a professional golfer, not a shogi player, but a professional golfer , and then a carpenter, and then as I was getting into music towards the end of my teens, I became more like a musician, but I don’t really understand what I was thinking when I was a boy, like in elementary school, but when I think about it now, it’s all I’m spreading that kind of thing because of the influence of manga and other content. I think I was taught golf when I was in elementary school. At that time I was taught by various teachers and I played golf, so I woke up to the fun of golf quite early. So I woke up to golf in elementary school and I was writing things like Pro Golifoo , and I don’t really know anything about it , but I think I had a desire to make something creative, and so I started writing, and as an angler, you know, at that time there were all kinds of games like Black Bass, Bass Number One, Threaded Bass Number One, and there was a manga about fishing for black bass, and I’ve forgotten the title of the manga , but it was about fishing for black bass, so I started fishing because of that and actually became a professional. There was a time when I wanted to become a fisherman, and after that it was completely Hikaru no 5. I think there was a manga called Hikaru no 5 in Jump, I think it was serialized, so I guess I’m very easily influenced by things around me. I’ve been influenced by a lot of things, and now that I’m here, I’m unemployed and doing nothing, living like a minimalist. It almost sounds like an old saying, but when you get to that point, it’s like nothing has come true at all. Nothing has come true, but somehow nothing has come true, but somehow it’s all mixed up and it’s all become like that. Yes, there is an essence to it, so if you really want to do it , I still do, and I like fishing, and I don’t play golf anymore, but I did play it for a while, I was addicted, and recently I prefer Othello, but China-san, hey Tokima-san, good evening, I couldn’t play Real Team so I listened to it on Time Free, Takada-ji, it’s interesting, isn’t it ? There is a program on TV where Jin-chan walks around various places with a shoulder bag, Tokimaru-san too I would like to have a program on Tokimaru Walking, so actually , this is something I have a bit of an idea for. Well, I have a list of things I want to do, or rather, videos, and one of them is Tokimaru Walking, and I have it written on there, and it’s something where I go for a walk, and I just go for a walk and talk about various things while I’m walking. I haven’t made it yet, but I might do it someday. I’m sorry for listening to you for so long while I’m walking, and I’m reflecting on the fact that even if it’s a video, I should be able to face Tokimaru even through the screen. But his voice is so good, I can’t stop wanting to listen to it as if it were a radio broadcast. Wednesday’s radio broadcast is the best, and I hope you’ll continue it in the future. Thank you for the kind words, Riu-san, I’m sorry for listening to you while I was walking, but you don’t have to apologize at all, and I would actually like you to listen to my radio along with your walk. It’s Koei. You can now register your Mine Number Card on your iPhone, and I’ve succeeded in minimizing your wallet. Tokimaru-san will be going digital in the future. I received a message from Mr. Osukawa saying that if there are things or things that you would like to see digitized , please let me know. It’s great that your My Number card can now be registered on your iPhone, and your driver’s license will be integrated with your health insurance card, so you won’t need your card anymore. So , it’s a bit of a hassle to still have to physically take something out, but I think digitization will continue to progress in the future . I wrote in my question to let me know if there are things or things that you would like to see digitized in the future, but I feel like that’s enough now. I don’t think there’s much left. I would like them to make a digital version of Nescafe. But food is something that never gets digitized, and that’s why its human qualities remain. I was talking about this with a photographer friend of mine for the first time in a while, and I think that qualifications, or things that you can see with your eyes, are becoming quite digitized, but with the introduction of AI, I think that AI will replace many things in the future, but humans, such as food, antennae, the joy of eating, those are things that only humans can do, and so there is digital printing technology, so things like food printing, small substances that taste like steak, like gummy candies, and things like that are being developed, but I think that the food aspect is intimately related to it, so as long as we have bodies, I don’t think that aspect will disappear. It really is like the world of the Matrix, so I think that from Mr. Tokimaru’s perspective, my ideal is the amount of work he does, and it’s a rediscovery of the new source , and it feels like everyone is the same. So, my question is, Mr. Tokimaru, do you have a fixed photo studio ? I would like to see the photos that Mr. Tokimaru takes. As for classics , well, I have done classics and photography a few times in the past, and I have done it at group stores a few times, and I also do classics, and I’m already in my 10s. I think it was more than a year ago that I held an event at a gallery in Shinjuku , but recently, I might make a book, but I’m not really thinking about classics. To be honest, I’m not sure yet. Depending on what kind of activities I want to do in the future and what kind of works I create, I might feel like opening something like a photo shop. Just this week, I went to an exhibition by a young photographer I know, and I was reminded that photography is great, and I think it’s important to go back to classics. No matter how much video and the virtual world develops, there is still the power of a single photograph, the materiality of the printed work, the aura of a photograph, so I think that As another classic genre, I think that the goodness of photography as an art form will probably continue into the future. No matter how much the media develops , there are no plans for a classic event, but when there is one, of course I will announce it on YouTube. Yes, I’m always looking forward to it. I also organized my belongings. For example, I only have one pen, and I left it behind on the bus when I was traveling far away. I tend to be careless, so I thought that if I don’t have many things, I would cry and stop using things, but I’m reflecting on that. Have you ever reduced the number of things you own and started crying? I feel like there’s no way to stop using things in your room, but that’s unfortunate. It’s quite common to lose things, isn’t it? On the bus and things like that, it’s easy to forget things. It doesn’t happen that much these days, but it used to happen quite a bit. I once left my skateboard on the train and could n’t get it back. It was listed as lost property or something, but someone probably took it. But recently I haven’t really lost anything. I only have 65 things so I really haven’t lost anything. But I think it’s inevitable that things like that will happen, so while I don’t lose them in my room, it is possible that I will lose them outside, so I just need to be very careful. Just when I thought I was really being pushed around, Director Nishimura Toru was there. Thank you, from Detox-san . I’m glad that you pointed that out properly. Sorry to have kept you waiting. I may have kept you waiting too long. Yes, Director Nishimura, Director Toru Nishimura. I think this was last year, I think. I uploaded a video of me practicing my own ashitagana yoga full primary on a winter’s day. I ‘ve been saying “super thanks” to this recently. Thank you so much from ES-san and S-san. It’s actually more than a year ago, so when I watch it now, I’m really embarrassed because I didn’t do it at all, but I’ve saved it anyway , so if you want to know what Ashtaga yoga is, please take a look . It’s about an hour and 20 minutes long, I think. I’ve uploaded the whole “like tomorrow” look, so I’d like to hear from NU. In the review on the jacket, the main character Tokimaru was arrested three months later after his beloved sister was murdered by someone two years ago. The murderer was the son of a senior politician who suffered from severe depression. The police determined that he was not responsible for his actions and quickly released him. One day, Tokimaru came across a social media account with photos of the man who killed his sister, living a fulfilling life without any inconveniences. It is not clear whether the senior politician’s parents paid the doctor and the police, but that must be what a diagnosis of severe depression means. Tokimaru has made up his mind, and now he is setting out to take revenge on his sister’s enemy. It’s amazing. The way the jacket is worn looks like a movie headline, so I wrote an imaginary story. Therefore, you have too much imagination, yeah, Amazing-san, thank you, yes, it’s wonderful, wonderful imagination, Tokimaru-san, yeah, 2 years ago, no, it starts from a great place, the story is always sudden, really, the story is surely anxious, but in the comments of the 30-day minimalism game, Mouse-san, Cookie-san, yeah, in addition to about 11 minutes of this video, I’m curious about what Tokimaru-san is doing for 23 hours and 49 minutes, yeah, I’m going to stay over next time, so, no, other than filming these 10 videos, I’ve done quite a lot of things, well, editing, and yeah, but generally, I’m doing yoga and I feel like I want to exercise. So, I want to have a meal there, and then that’s pretty much it. My day is over when I make choices, do housework, and do other things. I feel like I haven’t had much time to input lately, but I think I ‘ll try to record my 24 hours with a stationary camera next time. I’m thinking about doing that. I think I’m probably not doing anything and everyone will be surprised. Really, this guy isn’t doing anything. Really, this guy isn’t doing anything. He’s not working. Really, he’s not doing anything. Yes, I’m really not doing anything. Yes, I’m trying one item per day for a while it went well until I got a race. No competition for having a minimalist lifestyle. Everyone should take a hard job to get there. Harder than youth. Take a lot of discipline and patience to simplify . I’ve been trying to reduce one item a day for a long time , but I’ve become lazy and lazy. It’s not a competition to achieve a minimalist lifestyle, so everyone should reach that goal at their own pace. It’s harder than you think, and it takes a lot of determination and patience to simplify your life. That ‘s the discipline. Yes, it’s true, it’s really hard to simplify your life, isn’t it? So this 30-day experiment was really like an experiment to realize how much patience and determination I need. This is actually a game, a simple game, but it has a very deep meaning, and you’ll realize that. I wonder if there’s anyone who has tried it. Well, it’s time, so I’ll end it here for today. Thank you for watching until the end today. And thank you for always watching my videos. I ‘ll be broadcasting it on the radio again next week, so please tune in. Have a great Wednesday, everyone. Have a great day. See you in the next broadcast. [Music]

BUMP OF CHICKEN
